At Family Connections Essex, we provide safe, supportive contact services that foster understanding, care, and lasting family bonds. Tailored to each family's needs, our structured, child-focused approach ensures positive experiences.

We work with parents, extended families, social workers, and legal professionals, offering a neutral, non-judgmental setting where children can safely engage with family members. Whether contact is supervised, supported, or indirect, our priority is the child’s well-being while promoting healthy relationships for all.

Secure Contact Services

Our secure contact service is designed to create a safe, protected environment for parents to reconnect with their children. Held within a secure contact centre, this service ensures all necessary security measures are in place.

The service focuses on creating meaningful connections by offering a private, comfortable space for visits, with an emphasis on privacy and emotional well-being.

We pride ourselves on helping to foster positive and long-lasting relationships with children and their families.

Transport Services

We provide safe, reliable transport for children who no longer live at home, ensuring they reach school, contact sessions, and placements smoothly.

Our fully insured, DBS-certified team has extensive experience supporting children with challenging behaviours or emotional difficulties, offering a calm and supportive journey tailored to each child’s needs.

With well-being as our priority, we create a safe, nurturing travel experience for every child in our care.

Supervised Community Contact

Supervised Community Contact is organised through a standard referral process. Parents can rest assured that handovers are managed by our specialist team of contact supervisors.

Our team ensures a safe and supportive environment for parent-child interactions. This service offers an alternative environment for families, where contact takes place within the community.

Direct observations are conducted, and comprehensive reports are created. Our staff are actively present to ensure the well-being and comfort of everyone participating.

Virtual & Letterbox Contact

We provide facilitated virtual contact through secure platforms such as Teams, ensuring safe and structured interactions when face-to-face contact is not possible.

We also offer a Letterbox service, enabling monitored email communication where direct contact is not appropriate.

Our service is flexible and accessible for families, legal professionals, and social workers, tailored to individual needs.

With a strong focus on safety and well-being, our team supports each interaction to ensure a positive and controlled experience.

Hospital Contact

Our Hospital Supervision service provides reliable, impartial support for parents during challenging times.

We offer compassionate, judgement-free supervision in hospital settings, ensuring essential parent-child interactions take place safely.

With experience in maternity wards and non-accidental injury cases, our team creates a secure and supportive environment, helping parents maintain meaningful connections during hospital stays.

Handover Services

Our Handover Services provide a safe and neutral environment for the transfer of children between parents or carers. Handovers can take place at our Centre or in the community, depending on the agreed arrangements.

Parents do not need to meet, as our experienced contact supervisors manage all transitions.

For both contact centres and community locations, handover services help to ensure smooth transitions. Our team is committed to making the process as stress-free as possible for families.

Sisters Holding Hands

We are committed to fair, child-centred support, offering structured, professional supervision to help rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, and create positive experiences for children and families.

Our approach is non-judgemental and impartial, focusing on what is best for each child while ensuring that contact remains safe, respectful, and nurturing.

By working collaboratively with families, legal professionals, and support services, we strive to create opportunities for children to have consistent, meaningful, and protected interactions, even in challenging circumstances.
